چکیده

Contamination of effluents with chemicals is a serious problem that impacts human health. Methylene blue cationic dye found frequently in industrial and urban sewages. In this work, dried grinded seeds peels nance were used as biosorbents aqueous solutions at pH 7 10 (simulating textile effluents) finding Langmuir Freundlich isotherms adequately described the sorption. Adsorption efficiencies larger than 98% all cases slightly lower due to closeness point zero charge (pzc) (5.96 3.42, respectively). cases, adsorption was favorable (RLa < 1), Gibbs free energy negative indicating spontaneity, since these values ?80 but 0 kJ/mol, MB removal process mainly physical interactions, characteristic adsorption. No significant differences amongst bulk mass transfer coefficients for both sorbents, bioadsorbents had same hydrodynamic driving forces well depicted similar MB-adsorbent affinities. Interaction adsorbents corroborated by FTIR spectroscopy, sorption evidenced scanning electron microscopy image analysis which indicated fractal structures.

Removal of methylene blue from aqueous solutions using modified clay

Introduction: Discharging of industrial colored wastewaters especially into aqueous environments can cause adverse effects on aquatic life due to their toxic natures. In this study, montmorillonite modified by hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (HDTMA-Mt) was used for the adsorption of methylene blue (MB). Materials and Methods: The influence of surfactant loading rate, contact time, pH, adso...

Removal of methylene blue dye by application of polyaniline nano composite from aqueous solutions

This paper deals with application of polyaniline coated on wood sawdust for removal ofmethylene blue (MB) dye from aqueous solutions. Polyaniline coated onto sawdust (termedas PAn/SD) was prepared via direct chemical polymerization onto sawdust which waspreviously soaked in the monomer (aniline) solution in acidic (HC1) media. Adsorptionexperiments were carried out using batch system. The effec...

Removal of Methylene Blue Dye from Aqueous Solutions by Using Treated Animal Bone As A Cheap Natural Adsorbent

The adsorption behaviors of treated animal bone (TAB) with methylene blue dye (MBD) were studied. The aim of this study is to remove MBD from wastewater. A synthetic solution of 25 mg/L of the dye was used. The adsorption process was affected by contact time, doses of adsorbent, concentration of dye and temperature. It was carried out at constant pH (7.1). The optimum contact time was 90 min an...
